All safe zones are labeled in green with a circle on the map. The map also has a few safe areas you can use to cool off or take a break from the zombie madness. You will be away from any zombies on the ground and you will have the high ground advantage. One of the best places to go is on the top of the snowy tower. This is a very open map where there are many places to hide and meet with other players. As you can tell from the image above there are multiple biomes such as a Taiga, Snowy mountains and even a swamp biome.
This entire zombie infested world has a clean map system showcasing where everything is.
This is a pretty decent start and you are able to use these items to defend against a moderate amount of zombies.
